- Lyons P&O
Alexander Lyons, CPO, President of Lyons Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O), Inc. presented at the Academy Of Technology Nursing Program for an educational in-service covering the basics of the Orthotic and Prosthetic profession. Mr. Lyons’ goal for this talk was to expose these high school juniors, that are in a advanced medical program, to other areas of medicine and to encourage them with their academic pursuits. Also teaching was Jerry Sabo of Myrtle Beach, SC who is an active patient advocate and a prosthetic wearer.
Some of the topics discussed were education requirements, career paths, current Medical trends, and the rise of diabetes with complications such as amputations.
Janet Hodge, RN and Director of the Nursing Program took the initiative to bring Alexander Lyons, CPO in for this talk in hopes that it would broaden the student’s education in the medical field. Alexander Lyons felt strongly that “the students were highly receptive to the presentation and that they would be taking the information presented at the talk and positively apply it to what ever future endeavors they experienced.”
